Emjoi Micro Pedi

I know some people really hate talking about feet never mind looking at them but with summer arriving & the possibility of getting to wear sandals (fingers crossed) making sure your feet are in good condition is important.

I suffer from fallen arches in my feet which means I get really bad hard skin, something I hate! Over the years I have tried everything to get rid of it, some have worked & some haven't but nothing has ever completely satisfied me. I tried going to a chiropodist which was good but cost a whopping €40 each time! I tried the ped egg, a foot scalpel (ouch), pumice stones etc but nothing wowed me until I tried the Emjoi Micro Pedi!

The Micro Pedi -

  • Removes hardened, callused skin from feet in seconds
  • Includes two different rollers for custom results
  • Portable & convenient
  • Easy to clean under running water
It comes with two rollers a coarse pink one & an extra coarse blue one which are both easy to change. I used the blue roller on my feet & within seconds the difference was incredible. The rollers spin 30 times per second & work almost like sandpaper on the hard skin removing quick, easy & most importantly pain free! I'll include a quick youtube video below so you can see for yourself just how it works.

The Micro Pedi comes with the two rollers, a cleaning brush, a step by step instruction book & needs 2 AA batteries.

You can purchase the Micro Pedi from Boots, leading pharmacies nationwide or online from http://www.lifes2good.ie/  for €39.95.
You can also buy replacement rollers online from lifes2good for €14.95

If you struggle to keep your feet looking good I would definitely recommend this! It beats grating your feet any day ;)

17 Instant Glow Shimmer Brick - Pink Bronze

I was never really a big lover of highlighters until I purchased this little beauty & now I cant get enough of them! So while browsing my local Boots last week this shimmer brick caught my eye.

17 have added some new Instant Glow products to their range recently & there are two shimmer bricks to chose from, a pink bronze & a gold bronze.

I love how pigmented this shimmer brick is & you really only need the tiniest amount! You can use each colour individually or swirl them together (my personal favourite!). This is also a handy product for travelling as it can double up as eyeshadows, who doesn't love a multi purpose product!

These shimmer bricks cost €6.70 & are available to buy from Boots.

Are you a fan of shimmer bricks?
I think I need to pick up the gold bronze one next!

Carmex.... My Lip Saviour!

I discovered Carmex last December when the weather was crap & my lips were in an awful state.... I haven't looked back since. I have tried a lot of lip balms over the years & nothing compares to Carmex, a bold statement I know! Because of my love for Carmex I have a tub of it on my bedside table, one squeezy tube in my handbag & another in my kit!

The original tub version is my favourite for many reasons. It really moisturises your lips without leaving behind any nasty residue. If my lips are chapped or sore at all I always reach for this. I'm not a fan of dipping my fingers in things when I'm out & about so this has a little place on my bedside table!

Next up is the mint flavour in the squeezy tube, my personal favourite for keeping in my handbag & kit! The formula is just as good as the original in the tub & the mint is just a little noticeable not but overpowering!

The newest addition to the Carmex range is a line of Moisture Plus which come in a sleek silver slant tip applicator. The moisture plus range comes in lots of different colours & I was sent the peach one to try out. The peach lip balm is just as moisturising & hydrating as the original Carmex but adds a lovely sheer hint of colour to the lips & also has a slight peach smell to it which I love! I have used this every day since I got it & its now a handbag essential. A little extra bonus it also has SPF 15 in it!

Are you a fan of Carmex?
If you haven't tried these & your on the lookout for a good lip balm I would definitely recommend these!

You can purchase Carmex from Boots & everything costs under €6!

How To Depot Your Lipsticks!

I have wanted to depot some of my lipsticks for quite a while now & have had my eye on a beautiful Japonesque lipstick palette but its a bit out of my price range at the moment so I found a cheaper alternative on good ole ebay!

The palette itself cost €2.47 with free p&p & came with 15 pans. The base of the palette isn't magnetic so if your using this travelling you will need to be careful. The pans are a really good size, about the same size as a Mac eyeshadow.

A couple of things you will need - A sharp knife, a spoon, a candle, a lighter, tissue & lipsticks! I also used some surgical spirits to wipe down the palette and pans before I used them, just to make sure they were clean!

Take your lipstick & slice a chunk of the top.
Put the lipstick you just cut off onto the spoon & place it over the lighting candle. Be careful not to put it too close as you don't want the lipstick to boil as it may cause the formula of the lipstick to change!

Wait until the lipstick is completely melted & then give it a little stir with the knife. Stirring is important!

Now carefully pour the melted lipstick in to an empty pan & allow to cool. As you can see I didn't pour mine evenly enough but you get the hang of it after the first time of doing it!

I decided to keep this palette for just MUA lipsticks so I added a label to the front so it will be easy to spot in my kit.

Here is my finished palette! I need to pick up some more MUA lipsticks to fill the empty pans but so far I am very happy with it.
Top Row (L) to (R) Shade 10, Shade 11, Shade 13.
Middle Row (L) to (R) Shade 3, Shade 5, Shade 4.
Bottom Row (L) to (R) Shade 1, Shade 15.

Depotting my lipsticks means I have a little more space now in my kit & makeup drawers! Its a great way of getting more use out of products too, instead of digging through drawers looking for something you have it all in one place.

You can find a link to the seller I bought the palette from here & shipping took about 2 weeks!

Montagne Jeunesse De-Clog Pore Strips

I'm a huge fan of Montagne Jeunesse products so when I was asked if I would like to try some products from their new range I jumped at the chance. The new Skin Heroes range is all about helping problem prone skin whether you suffer from dry or oily skin. The product I was most excited about trying was the nose strips, I'm a huge nose strip fan & always use the Montagne Jeunesse Natural Charcoal Pore Strips so I had high hopes for these!

Each nose strips comes individually packaged with clear instructions on how to use it on the back. Simply wet your nose, apply the nose strip, relax for 10-15mins and then gently peel it off. Now let me tell you there is nothing more satisfying than pulling off a nose strip & seeing exactly what kind of nasty things were blocking up your pores! Now I don't want to scare anyone off by showing you pictures of a used strip but these 100% work & I was actually amazed the first time I used them, I wouldn't say I have terrible blackheads by any means but boy did a lot come out on that strip!

(L) Skin Heroes Pore Strip, (R) Charcoal Nose Strip.

I actually prefer the Skin Heroes nose strips for one reason - they don't leave behind any residue like the black ones do meaning you don't need to wash your face afterwards but they both work equally as good!

Are you a fan of nose strips?
Do you enjoy using them as much as I do? :)

The new Skin Heroes range is currently only available in the UK & can be found in ASDA.

MUA Lipstick Shade 3

Featured in my latest haul post was this little bargain of a lipstick. I love MUA's lipsticks, they are so affordable & really pigmented so whenever I pop in to Superdrug I always have a little look at the MUA stand for new colours. So picture this ladies, off I wandered in to Superdrug last week just passing some time before I had to go somewhere & my heart sank a little - the MUA stand was gone. I must have looked like a total crazy lady because I did a quick little jog (I wish I was joking) around the shop searching incase they moved it & there I saw it. A huge brand spanking new MUA stand packed full of products! I had a quick look through it & left with some bits, one of them being this lipstick.

Shade 3 is a beautiful raspberry pink lipstick, really moisturising & easy to apply. It's a perfect 'no maintenance required' lipstick because you don't need to spend ages scrubbing & moisturising your lips before applying.

The only downside to this is the packaging. I wish it was a bit sturdier, the lipstick seems to get a little squished inside the tube! Now I know for the price I can't complain too much but it's just a little constructive criticism! On a more positive note, hats off to MUA for creating such a fab range of products that are affordable too!

This lipstick cost €1.35 & is available to buy from Superdrug & online.

P.S I haven't gone back to Superdrug since the above incident & to be honest I'm a little embarrassed. I don't think the security really understood just how happy I was to see a proper MUA stand & I think he thought I had a few screws loose!
